Does Christian Matchmaking Mean Going on Blind Dates?
Does Christian Matchmaking Mean Going on Blind Dates?
If you've thought about using a Christian matchmaking service, you've probably asked yourself the same question a lot of people ask us: am I going to get set up with a total stranger and have zero idea what they look like until I show up?
At Kingdom Singles, the answer is no.
Every matchmaking service runs a little differently, but we believe transparency matters. Our goal isn't to sit two Christian singles down at a restaurant and hope for the best. It's to create intentional introductions between people who are genuinely looking for marriage, and give both sides enough information ahead of time to decide if they actually want to meet. That includes seeing who you might be introduced to.
Why We Don't Do Completely Blind Dates
Faith, character, and life goals matter more than anything when you're choosing a spouse. But let's be honest, pretending physical attraction doesn't matter at all isn't realistic either.
That doesn't mean someone has to look like a model, and it doesn't mean looks should be the deciding factor. It just means there should be enough initial interest that both people actually want to sit down together.
Think about it. You get ready, drive somewhere, sit down across from a stranger, and within thirty seconds you already know there's zero attraction. That's rough for everyone involved. We'd rather solve that problem before the date ever happens.
Will a Christian Matchmaker Set You Up With Someone You've Never Seen?
When we find someone who looks like a strong potential match, we don't just send you straight to a date. We share information first, including photos, so both people can decide if they're interested. If the interest goes both ways, we move forward with the introduction.
That means by the time you actually meet, you're not walking in blind. You already know what they look like and some of what matters most about them.
The real question becomes what happens in person. Do you enjoy talking to each other? Is there chemistry? That's something no questionnaire, app, or photo can predict. That's what the date is actually for.
Christian Matchmaking Should Go Deeper Than an App
Here's one of the biggest differences between real matchmaking and swiping on an app: intentionality. Most dating apps give you a few pictures, a short bio, and a checkbox that says "Christian." But what does that actually mean to the person who checked it? Are they living out their faith day to day? Are they even looking for marriage? Do they want kids? What are their dealbreakers?
Those are the questions that actually matter when you're looking for a husband or wife, which is why our application goes a lot deeper than a checkbox.
What's Actually on the Kingdom Singles Application
When you apply to join our matchmaking database, we want to understand who you are and who you're hoping to meet. We ask about your faith, what you're looking for in a spouse, your age range, your relationship and marriage goals, dealbreakers, church involvement, family and lifestyle preferences, and whether you're open to meeting someone locally, in-state, or nationally. You'll also send in a few current photos so we can build out a complete profile.
None of this is about making dating complicated. It's actually the opposite. We want to know more up front so the introductions we make actually mean something.
Everyone Here Is Here for the Same Reason
We're not trying to be another generic dating company. Kingdom Singles is a Christian singles community first. Faith isn't a filter buried somewhere in the application, it's the whole point. We want to connect Christians who are serious about marriage and building a life centered on Christ.
That's why we keep growing our matchmaking database city by city and state by state. We already have hundreds of Christian singles in the community, and that number keeps climbing.
Mutual Interest Comes Before the First Date
We'd rather both people choose the introduction than just get told "you've been matched, show up Friday at 7." When both people say yes to meeting each other first, they walk into the date already a little invested. From there, the date can focus on what actually matters: who this person really is, not just their profile picture.
The Goal Isn't More Dates. It's Marriage.
We're not interested in keeping people in an endless cycle of dating. We want to help Christian singles find their spouse and build strong, Christ-centered marriages. That's why our process looks past surface-level compatibility. Attraction matters, but so do faith, character, values, family goals, and where each person wants their life to go. When those things line up, that's when an introduction gets exciting.
So will a Christian Matchmaker Set You Up With Someone You've Never Seen?"
With Kingdom Singles, no. You're not getting sent to meet a total stranger with zero information. When we find someone with real potential, both people get to see who they're considering before anything moves forward. If there's mutual interest, we make the connection, and then it's up to you to find out if there's real chemistry.
If you're a Christian single serious about finding a husband or wife, we'd love to get to know you. Fill out our matchmaking application and tell us what you're looking for. You never know who's already in our community, or who might join next. And if you know someone who's ready for something real, send them our way. One introduction can change someone's whole life.
